The last 2 empty seed boxes are being loaded on a truck bound for Channel's main seed processing facility in Decatur, IL. This marks the end of a great 2016 seed season for Yield PRO Agronomy! I can't thank all our customers enough for the support. I appreciate all the help from the local Channel district sales managers Steve Lefever, (Congrats on the retirement!), and Danielle who is transitioning from training with Steve to her DSM role. I'd also like to thank my plot cooperators Todd Olson, Dan Schwartzel, and Mark Kenworthy. On farm product testing benefits all customers by proving the new products in varying field conditions throughout the trade territory. Last but not least my wife Angie for keeping the books in line along with dealing with my odd and long hours!

Last year low quality plot seed did not allow us to get a good look at this new 101 day hybrid. It's safe to say the 2016 plot seed was top notch! Keep your eyes on this great product.
Here is a quick flyover with Yield PRO's drone of the Taylor corn plot that features 9 varieties from 90-97 day. Enjoy!
Channel 1808R2's are off to a good start in the Tomah soybean plot. This year the plot features the regular RR2 varieties and the new RR2 Xtend dicamba resistant varieties planted in 30" rows. The plot was sprayed pre -plant with Ledger and glyphosate. Ledger has done a great job holding back grass and broadleaf weeds.

Brandt Smart Trio is a great option to give your plants a foliar dose of secondary and micro nutrients. Just simply spray 1-2 quarts per acre with the second pass of Roundup over the top of corn or soybeans. It mixes well with all herbicides.
Year after year Channel 197-66 delivers consistant top end yield. The way thing are looking, this year will be no different. This particular field is very heavy black soil and is prone to giant ragweed issues. TripleFlex II and glyphosate were applied at V2. Tonight I could not find any weed escapes and canopy is only a few days away. Corn is advancing quickly, and if needed clean-up passes of Roundup should be sprayed very soon. Call with any questions or issues you would like me to take a look at.
199-72STX is a new 99 day hybrid in the Channel lineup. It emerged exceptionally well and its early season growth is outpacing all existing products. This is a product to keep your eye on.
2.1" fell last night on top of the 1.1" the previous 3 days. This rain should put us back into the normal range for this time of year. Rain makes grain!
