The Yield PRO Channel soybean plot was a great success. 2108R2's topped the plot at 67 bu/a. This plot was no-tilled in 30" rows. A huge thank you goes out to Mark and Sue Kenworthy for your help and cooperation!
Two things to note about this yield check. 1. You can clearly see the high yield potential of the 92 day straight RR variety yielding 222 bu/a. This area was a high spot in this river bottom that was never under water from excessive rains earlier in the year. 2. 192-07/08/09 family tolerate cool saturated soils. 183 bu/a was a whole pass including low areas that were under water multiple times in early June. A late pass of nitrogen along with the right hybrid for the environment delivered great results!
186-30R delivered solid yield in a low yield environment. Keep this hybrid in mind for an early option.
Great yields from the ridge! These hybrids were not side by side. Yield checks were done on two different fields.
Channel 197-66VT2P at 97 day maturity outperformed 100 day 5015VT2P from Great Lakes and 102 day 4975 from Croplan. I also included a drone photo from this summer showing this side by side. Left to right Channel 197-66, Great Lakes 5015, and Croplan 4975.
