The Tomah corn plot provided a great look at the yield potential of the top Channel products. 197-68STX easily won followed by 192-09VT3P and 196-77STX. This was a corn on corn plot. Some of the products tested were VT2P. The double pro products provided good yields but gave up a lot of yield to the hybrids with rootworm protection. It clearly pays to use the correct traits on your corn on corn acres. Thank you to Mark Kenworthy for all the help planting and harvesting the plot!
This week both Yield PRO test plots were harvested. The Taylor plot was a great snapshot into a cold wet stressful environment. This field is very fertile but low and wet sharing a border with a swamp. The plot field found itself with standing water twice along with being laid down slightly during a June storm. All things considered it yielded very well. The cool and wet tolerance of 192-08VT2P and 195-58STX definitely showed. Under normal growing conditions this field has yielded in the 200-235 bushel per acre range. Thank you Dad for helping plant and harvest the plot!
