These pictures show the progress of the Yield PRO Channel corn plot in Tomah. The genetic diversity in the Channel lineup is very obvious. 197-33 Smarstax and 193-34 VT2P show great potential for grain and silage yield. While 197-68 Smartstax, 196-77 Smartstax, and 192-09 VT3P look to be the top grain hybrids.
Tucked in the middle of this very sandy field near Sparta, WI is 6 rows of a new 98 day Channel DroughtGard hybrid. I will be monitoring this hybrid for agronomics and performance under stressful conditions. The yield data from this trial along with yield data from the Yield PRO test pots will be available during the seed ordering season.
